Wonderful Trip to Nassief House!

HI Folks,
Today's trip to Nassief House was made extra special because not only Mrs. Nassief, our Islamic Civilisation teacher came along, but also her uncle Mr. Abdulaziz Nassief met us there, and he was actually BORN in the house and used to live there. He was even married in the house. It was really enlightening to hear him speak about how the house was built and the planning that went into it. It took ten years to build the house and it is huge! 40 rooms! We looked around many of them and ended up in a cool roof terrace where we could listen to more stories about the house and have a rest from all the stairs. We were told that 7 Kings have been guests in the house over the years! The building next door was also built by the Nassief family and was originally the very first girls' school in the Kingdom. We were privileged to go inside there too today and noticed the beautiful tile work and painted ceilings as well as the many ancient books.
Thanks to Mrs. Dajani for joining us on the trip. She was a great help to me as my voice is still not back to full power yet!
A great day was had by all. Well done for being well behaved and making me proud to be with you today.
Mrs. W.
